Gao Yu

Chairman of Counsellors' Office of the State Council

Gao Yu, a native of Yanchuan, Shaanxi Province, was born in June 1961. He began his career in July 1983 and joined the Communist Party of China in June 1986. He graduated from Shandong University as a major in Chinese Language. He has a bachelor’s degree in Arts. His Previous Positions include Deputy Director and then Director of the Second Secretarial Bureau, Member of Party Group of the General Office of the State Council (GOSC), and Director (Vice Ministerial Level) of Supervision Office of the GOSC. He has been Vice Secretary General of the State Council, Member of Party Group and Director of Supervision Office of the GOSC since October 2019. He was appointed as Chairman and Secretary of the Party Group of the COSC in May 2021.
