Wang Meng, a native of Nanpi, Hebei Province, was born in October 1934. He is a CPC member, a famous contemporary Chinese writer and Honorary Vice Chairman of the China Writers Association. His prior positions include Minister of Culture, Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Writers Association, Editor-in-Chief of People’s Literature and President of the Chinese National Academy of Arts. He was an alternate member of the 12th CPC Central Committee, a member of the 12th and 13th CPC Central Committee and a member of the Standing Committee of the 8th to 10th CPPCC National Committee. He was engaged as a researcher of the CCICH in January 2009.
