Date: 2018-09-04
On the morning of August 28th, 2018, the “Beyond the Great Wall” calligraphy exhibition, guided by CCICH, hosted by the Ningxia Institute of Culture and History, and co-organized by 14 provincial and municipal institutes of culture and history, opened at the Ningxia Culture Museum. COSC Vice Chairman Zhao Bing, Huang Chaoxiong, former Vice Chairman of Ningxia People’s Congress, and delegates of local institutes of culture and history attended the opening ceremony.

Zhao Bing pointed out that culture and history institutes and their researchers have important responsibilities to carry forward traditional Chinese culture and build a socialist country of advanced cultures. It is important to follow the Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, enhance cultural confidence, serve the people, make innovation, stay true to artistic ideals, and draw the best of foreign culture. Masterpieces that reflect the trend of the times, showcase people’s aspiration for prosperity and demonstrate China’s style should be made, so as to make positive contribution to new glories of the Chinese culture.

The exhibition is one of the major cultural events to celebrate the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up, the 60th anniversary of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the 65th anniversary of the Ningxia Institute of Culture and History.

Over 110 pieces of calligraphy were on display. 20 were collections from CCICH, including masterpieces of late masters such as Qi Gong, Luo Ming and Huang Jun and contemporary masters such as Shen Peng, Hou Dechang and Shu Yi. Ningxia and other local institutes also put on display their collections of different styles. All these works show the artistic achievements of CCICH and local institutes of culture and history.

While in Ningxia, Zhao Bing made investigations on Internet plus Healthcare and Internet plus Education at the Yinchuan First Hospital, Yongning Township Hospital and Xingqing Second Primary School. He had discussions with local government counselors and people from relevant authorities on building Internet Plus demonstration areas in healthcare and education in Ningxia.
