Vice Chairwoman Wang Hong Met with UK Foreign Secretary’s Special Representative for Climate Change Sir David King

On January 11, 2017, COSC Vice Chairwoman Wang Hong met with UK Foreign Secretary’s Special Representative for Climate Change Sir David King at COSC in Beijing.

Vice Chairwoman Wang expressed her welcome to Sir David King and briefed him on China’s policies on clean energy and climate change and what has been done in this regard. Sir David King introduced the UK government’s latest policies and measures to tackle climate change, applauded what China has done and achieved in responding to climate change and expressed the hope to strengthen cooperation with COSC and carry out joint research. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on evaluating climate change risks, China-UK cooperation in tackling climate change and other issues of shared interest.

Neal Carlin,First Secretary of the Climate Change and Energy Division and Head of Climate Change Affairs of the British Embassy, He Jiankun, COSC Research Fellow, and Sun Weijia, Director General of the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation, were present at the meeting.
