COSC Delegation Visited Zimbabwe and Mozambique

From May 25 to June 1, 2016, COSC Vice Chairman Wang Weimin led a delegation to visit Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

During their visit to Zimbabwe, the delegation met with Reston J. Muzamhindo, Acting Permanent Secretary of Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanization and Irrigation Development and had talks with Ms. Phyllis Johnson, founding director of Southern African Research and Documentation Center and other economists. They also had a meeting with representatives of Chinese companies and Chinese agricultural experts on assistance missions in Zimbabwe. The delegation visited the demonstration center for agricultural technologies built by China, the Anhui-Zimbabwe Agricultural Development Company and local rural communities. Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Huang Ping met with the delegation and attended some of the activities.

During the visit to Mozambique, the delegation met with the Luisa Celma Meque, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and visited the International Strategic Research Center of the Institute of International Relations of Mozambique. They also had a meeting with Chinese companies in Mozambique and paid visits to the China-Mozambique Agricultural Technological Demonstration Center, CNPC Mozambique and local rural communities. The charge d’affairs of the Chinese embassy He Yuan and Counselor Wang Lipei attended some of those events.

Counsellors Feng Xiuhua and Zheng Hu, Research Fellow Zhang Yuxiang and Deputy Director Peng Tao of the General Office were also on the visit.
