Shu Yi’s Painting Exhibition Widely Acclaimed
The Exhibition of Shu Yi’s Paintings, titled “Tian Ma Xing Kong – Shu Yi De Hua” or in English “A Heavenly Steed Soaring Across the Sky – Shu Yi’s Painings” was opened at the Huangyuan Gallery of the Beijing Zhongshan Park on 12 October 2014. Mr. Qian Shaowu wrote the title and congraluatory message for the exhibition. As he wrote, “Shu Yi’s paintings come from his heart. He is a writer, scientist and artist. And being a painter is just one corner in his rich world of emotions. But his breadth and depth reflects his charm that is like none others.” Visitors of the exhibition included Chen Jinyu, Chairman of the Counsellors’ Office of the State Council, Researchers of the Central Institute for Culture and Hisotry Jin Shangyi, Hou Dechang, Ma Zhensheng, Xue Yongnian, Yang Lizhou, Li Qiankuan, Li Xiaoke and Zhao Derun, Chairman of the China Oil Painting Society Zhan Jianjun, Vice President of the CCICH Calligraphy and Painting Institute Wang Junshan. They spoke highly of the remarkable works of Shu Yi.
This is another personal exhibition for Shu Yi following his painting exhibition in Paris and also the 19th personal exhibition of his. This exhibition includes new artistic creations by Shu Yi, such as “Yangtze River Work Song”, “Morning of Beijing” and “Yungang and Longmen”. With original conception, these works show the artist’s rich artistic imagination and vigorous emotions. The exhibition coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Beijing Zhongshan Park, thus adding greater color to the celebration activities.
