COSC Chairman Wang Zhongwei Met With the Delegation of the Fundación Alternativas of Spain

On 25 October 2015, COSC Chairman Wang Zhongwei met with the delegation of the Fundación Alternativas of Spain headed by Mr. Vicente Palacio, Deputy Director of Fundación Alternativas.
Chairman Wang Zhongwei expressed welcome to the delegation to visit China and attend the Symposium on China-Europe (Spain) Multi-Area Cooperation to be held on 26 October. He said that development is the biggest task for China as the largest developing country in the world. A major feature of China’s development is opening-up. The Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping is in nature a proposal to expand opening-up and international cooperation, aimed at achieving win-win results. He commended the exchanges and cooperation between the COSC and the Fundación Alternativas over the past five years, hoping for further and deeper growth of the friendly cooperation as an active contribution to the development of relations between the two countries.



Mr. Vicente Palacio expressed appreciation to the COSC for the gracious hospitality accorded to the delegation and the tremendous work in preparation for the symposium, expecting productive outcomes from the symposium as a way to boost bilateral relations. The two sides also exchanged views on other topics of mutual interest.
 

Also present at the meeting were COSC Vice Chairman Fang Ning, Counsellors of the State Council Liu Yanhua and Wang Huiyao and Director-General Sun Weijia of the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation of the COSC from the Chinese side and Mr. Vicente Palacio, Deputy Director of Fundación Alternativas, Mr. Juan Pablo de Laiglesia, former Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Luis María Atienza Serna, former Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Luis Fernando Palao Taboada, former Secretary of State for Transport, Ministry of Development, Ms. Inmaculada Turbau Fuertes, former Director of Casa América and Mr. Jose Luis Garcia Galan, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Spain in China.
