To thoroughly implement the New Concept for Development, act on the important decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on advancing ecological conservation and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, and study and implement the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping in his important remarks on winning the battle for the Yellow River’s Jizi Bend, a symposium on “Comprehensively Advancing Ecological Conservation and High-Quality Development in the Yellow River Basin—Winning the Battle for the Yellow River’s Jizi Bend” was held in Bayannur City from October 16 to 17. The event was sponsored by the Counsellors’ Office of the State Council (COSC) and organized by the Counsellors’ Office of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People’s Government and the Bayannur Municipal Government. Xu Chang, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the COSC, and Huang Zhiqiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Committee and Executive Vice Chairman of the region, attended the event and delivered addresses. State Council Counsellors Zhang Hongwu and Lu Qi delivered keynote speeches. Relevant representatives from Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia, Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Bayannur delivered featured speeches. State Council Counsellors Ge Jianping and Xian Zude presided over the symposium and delivered concluding remarks. Government counsellors, special research fellows of counsellors’ offices, and relevant experts and scholars from the nine provinces and autonomous regions along the Yellow River conducted discussions on two topics: “Building a Strong Ecological Barrier to Ensure a Well-Harnessed Yellow River” and “Developing Distinctive Industries to Advance High-Quality Development.”
