On September 12, 2024, the Counsellors’ Office of the State Council (COSC) held an intensive workday event. Gao Yu, Secretary of Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the COSC, presided over the meeting and delivered remarks. Wang Renfei, Deputy Director-General and Level I Inspector of the Department of Comprehensive System Reform of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and Lu Qi, Counsellor of the State Council and Chief Scientist of the Chinese Academy of Forestry, each delivered a thematic report. The event was attended by Wang Weimin and Xu Chang, Members of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairmen of the COSC, as well as counsellors of the State Council, researchers of the China Central Institute for Culture and History (CCICH), and special research fellows of the COSC and CCICH.

Focusing on the economic performance in the first half of the year and efforts to effectively advance economic work in the second half, Mr. Wang conducted an in-depth, systematic analysis of the prevailing situation, prominent problems and follow-up work arrangements concerning current economic work, interpreted the guiding principles of relevant documents, and addressed issues of public concern.
