On the afternoon of November 12, 2025, Zou Xiaodong, Chairman of the Counsellors’ Office of the State Council (COSC), met with Farhod Arziev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China, at the COSC.

   Mr.Zou extended a warm welcome to the delegationled byAmbassador Arziev, and briefed the Uzbek side on the primaryfunctions of the COSCand relatedwork. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Mr.Zounoted, bilateral relations between China and Uzbekistan have entered a golden era. The COSC stands ready to step up efforts to deepenpolicy, think tank and cultural exchangesbetween China and Uzbekistan,and to put forwardsuggestionsto advance the alignment of development strategiesand practicalcooperation, as well asjointly forgea more substantive and dynamicChina-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.

   Mr.Arziev thanked Chairman Zou for sparing time fromhis busy schedule for the meeting. He stated that the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Chinastands ready to furtherstrengthenexchanges and cooperation with the COSC, jointly boostingthe growth of Uzbekistan-China relations and intensifying collaboration on multilateral platforms such as the China-Central Asia Mechanism and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO). During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on other topics of mutual interest.

   Also present at the meeting were Saidkamol Agzamkhodjaev, Minister‑Counselor of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China; Chang Jile, Zhen Zhen and Li Wu, Counsellors of the State Council; as well as officials from the General Office and the Department of the International Exchanges and Cooperation of the COSC.
