On March 30, 2022, Zhu Guangyao, Counsellor of the State Council, attended the first video seminar of the 2022 “Finance and Development in Asia” series of round-table conferences of the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) upon invitation as a keynote speaker. Nearly 100 participants were invited to attend the seminar, including former US government officials, former officials of international organizations, and experts and scholars from universities and think tanks.

At the seminar, Zhu introduced China’s policy stance and responded to the concerns of US scholars on issues such as the Chinese economy, China-US relations and global industry and supply chains. Former US Deputy Secretary of State Robert Hormats and former Deputy Secretary-General of OECD Joanna Shelton attended the meeting and exchanged views with Zhu.

The U.S. Council on Foreign Relations is a famous American think tank, with its members from government and the communities of business, education and the press.
