At the invitation of the Hebrew Writers Association in Israel and Jordanian Writers Association, CCICH researcher Wang Meng and Liu Jiangying, Vice Chairman of the Anhui Institute of Culture and History, led a delegation on a visit to Israel and Jordan from 6 to 13 November 2019 for cultural exchange.
They took part in the fourth Silk Road Seminar on Chinese and Jordanian cultures held by the Jordanian Writers Association. Wang Meng made a speech titled “Civilization, Literature, and Culture”; Liu Jiangying spoke on China-Jordan cooperation. The delegation exchanged views with the Hebrew Writers Association in Israel, visited the former residence of Nobel Prize laureate writer Shmuel Yosef Agnon, and met with Sergei A. Toroptsev, a sinologist in Israel with a background in the former Soviet Union.
Wang Meng also spoke to the staff members of the Chinese embassy in Jordan on traditional Chinese culture, sharing his own experience in life and literary work, which was well received. The delegation also met with Pan Weifang and Zhan Yongxin, Chinese ambassadors to Jordan and Israel.
